Focus and Scope

Global Forum on Arts and Christian Faith is a refereed journal published electronically twice a year by the International Council of Ethnodoxologists (ICE). Each issue features a range of articles, working papers, and reviews on topics related to the expressive arts in Christianity around the world. The topics consider a broad spectrum: music, dance, drama, visual arts, storytelling, and others. Global Forum welcomes all audiences, including:

  • Researchers and scholars exploring the interactions of the arts and Christianity
  • Advocates engaged in the application of the arts disciplines to new acts of co-creation
  • Practitioners in the arts

Contributors need not be members of ICE, nor do the views expressed in published articles necessarily reflect those of ICE. Materials for review should be sent to the Reviews Editor.

The Global Forum charges no fees to authors for publishing their work, and authors retain copyright of their work published in the journal.

Peer Review Process

All submissions are initially assessed by the Senior Editor, and may then be assigned to reviewers in a double-blind peer review. The reviewers' recommendations determine whether a submission is accepted for publication. This process typically takes up to four weeks. Reviewers represent a range of academic disciplines and geographical areas. The Senior Editor may solicit responses to an article, to be published in the same, or a subsequent, issue.

In considering a submission, we ask the reviewer to consider the following:

*Does the submission fit into the stated goals of the journal?

*Does it represent new research or a fresh perspective on other research?

*Does it present a balanced view of the topic? If not, would it be possible to solicit a response to show another perspective on the topic?

Please provide comments and suggestions for improvement that will encourage the author to revise and re-submit, if necessary.

Specific editing for matters of spelling, grammar, and usage will be done by the Senior Editor prior to publication. You may also recommend improvements in these areas, but it is not required.

Publication Frequency

The Global Forum on Arts and Christian Faith opens a new volume at the start of each calendar year. Submissions are reviewed and prepared for publication, and are published in the current volume when they are ready. Once an article is ready for publication, there is no wait for publication.

Open Access Policy

Global Forum on Arts and Christian Faith provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
